Despite having only recently become a customer, there is already a long history between team agrar and Voigt-Logistik. Mark Wettich explains why he returned to a familiar partner.
When asked what matters most to him when working with a freight forwarding company, Mark Wettich, Head of the General Cargo Division at team agrar GmbH, answers without hesitation:
“Establishing a smooth process, delivering strong performance, and building a long-term partnership on that foundation.”
Grinning, Christian Kletzien, Sales Director at Herbert Voigt GmbH & Co. KG, adds: “Or a further development of the existing process.” Wettich laughs—the two have known each other for years and have already worked together under various divisions of team agrar GmbH.
team agrar, a division of the team SE group, supplies farms across Germany with seeds, fertilizers, and crop protection products. Since team agrar ships a lot of general cargo, the company was looking for a reliable logistics partner.
“As a rule, we only award large volumes of general cargo to established networks. That’s why Voigt-Logistik, with the DHL network, is a suitable partner that can easily handle a certainvolume for us, ” Wettich explains.
In early January 2025, Voigt-Logistik took over the transport of heavy shipments for team agrar.
The complexity of the goods made setting up an appropriate interface particularly challenging.
“team agrar is a customer with many requirements, ” says Kletzien. “Especially hazardous materials which required a special solution. Through various adjustments, we were able to create acustomer-specific interface and successfully complete the project.”
According to Wettich, the interface improvements have already made a difference since the start of the collaboration: “Previously, we used a separate tool for shipment entry. Now everything runs directly through our Transport Management System (TMS)—that wasn’t possible before. This has streamlined our process. Especially for hazardous goods data and labeling, this is a big advantage. This data is already in the TMS, and double entry would mean extra effort.”
“Voigt-Logistik meets the agreed deadlines 99.9 percent of the time. That enables us to maintain a clean workflow, and that’s important to us. If something goes wrong in the service provider’s process, it doesn’t leave us unaffected. Then things go wrong for us too.”
He also values the good personal contact and communication on equal footing, recalling a particularly critical meeting from a previous collaboration that makes both him and Kletzien smile.
“Although the tone was direct, we immediately worked together after the meeting to improve our workflow, ” Wettich recounts. “We have always worked constructively—even during crisis phases.”
That gives him confidence in the renewed partnership:
“We’ve known many colleagues for years and never lost touch, which pays off today. here, I know exactly what I’m getting, ” Wettich adds.
